The Matrix

The red pill or the blue pill? The famous question fans of The Matrix will always remember as this futuristic thriller was filmed majorly in Fox Studios, Moore Park . All but a few scenes were shot here with other great scenes recognisable from different parts of the city. Recognizable landmarks were kept to a minimum to give off the authentic American feel but some places visitors may see in the movie are the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge , the Commonwealth bank branch and other notable buildings like the offices of AON, Telstra and KMPG. Other scenes from this iconic movie are set on streets, warehouses and rooftops all over the city. Producer Joel Silver was very enthusiastic about using this great city in the filming: Filmmaking expertise, competitive costs and a great spirit of cooperation all enhanced Sydneys appeal. We also liked the diversity of the citys architecture and its general geography; it was an ideal city for our purposes.
