Tamarama or Glamarama as it is locally known is a great beach to enjoy some quiet relaxing time, great sun bathing and celebrity watching. This is where the trend setters come and try to be noticed as they chill and bathe on this beautiful small beach. The best aspects of Tamarama are the great landscapes, parks, beach, ocean, quiet surrounds and convenient location nestled between Bondi and Bronte beaches. The word Tamarama is said to be a derivation of the Aboriginal word Gamma Gamma which appeared on coastline maps back in the 1800s.

It is a small beach between two prominent headlands, with a sand filled valley to the back, a narrow beach and deceptive for its size. Enjoy the great coastal walk known as the Bronte to Bondi Ocean Walk where the views will take you away as you peer out onto the Tasman Sea. Along this route for a fortnight each November sees the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition displayed. This involves outdoor sculptures placed along the coastal walk making use of its surrounding environment and is definitely worth a look. The Tamarama Surf Life Saving Club founded more than a hundred years ago also claims to be one of the first in the world. There is a lot to see and fun to be had at this cool beach and with places such as Bondi , Centennial Park and Oxford Street nearby it is in an ideal location for a great day out.

Get a great hotel a short journey from this lovely beach such as Meriton Serviced Apartments - Bondi Junction , Cambridge Hotel Sydney , Blue A Taj Hotel and Holiday Inn Potts Point
