Also located in Moore Park , right beside the Sydney Cricket Ground is the Sydney Football Stadium . Because the cricket ground is an oval pitch, the Sydney teams lacked a rectangular pitch for the likes of Rugby and Soccer and so in 1988 the Sydney Football Stadium was built. This 45,500 capacity crowd enjoy getting really vocal behind their teams: the Sydney Roosters, Sydney FC and the New South Wales Waratahs.

In such a relatively short history for a stadium, Sydneysiders has seen their Sydney FC team beat Melbourne victory to win the 2010 Hyundai A-League Premiership and host games from the 2003 Rugby World Cup. One of its biggest moments was the 1-1 draw with Argentina in the 1994 FIFA World Cup Qualification, a team that had the famous Diego Maradona. Other notable occasions in the stadium and one remembered by Australian rugby fans, involved the famous last second George Gregan tackle on New Zealands Jeff Wilson where Australia regained the Bledisloe Cup in 1994.

There have been a lot of great moments so take a look around this curvy stadium or you could even be part of the next historical moment in many of the games played here!
