Moulin Rouge! was filmed entirely at Fox Studios in Moore Park , Sydney. The movie helped bring the musical movies back to the forefront with films like Chicago, Dreamgirls, Rent and the Phantom of the Opera being released since due to the success of Moulin Rouge.
