Arguably boasting some of the best views of Sydney and the harbour is Kirribilli. Located at the southern point of the north shore and connected to the CBD by the Sydney Harbour Bridge , Kirribilli is a serene and beautiful area to take in the marvellous city of Sydney while still being only a few kilometres from all the action. Originating from the Aboriginal culture the word Kirribilli or Kiarabilli, means good fishing spot. This is an obvious choice of words with the Pacific Ocean surrounding the majority of the border around the northern suburb. But this isnt just a fishing area, there is a small shopping strip located near Milsons Point railway station that can satisfy your every shopping need and on the fourth Saturday of every month are the Kirribilli Markets. These swanky little markets are held on the lawns of the old Kirribilli Bowling Club and contain a mixture of clothing, jewellery and food and drink stands.

Kirribilli also has an artsy side to it as it is home to Australias oldest professional theatre company that is still operating today! The Ensemble Theatre located at McDougall Street is a converted boatshed and shows productions of contemporary artists from Australia and abroad, where you can also taste the sensational food at Baylys and enjoy the views. Bring out your inner child and increase the hyper levels in the kids by heading to Luna Park at Milsonss Point, a great family day out finished off by epic vies of Sydney Harbour at sunset.

Great hotels located close to Kirribilli are Sydney Harbour Marriott , The Sebel Pier One , Four Seasons Sydney , Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney and Mantra 2 Bond Street
