Home to the most famous beach in Australia, Bondi beach is a name everyone has heard of. The golden sands of this kilometre long beach are a top attraction of the great city of Sydney. Operating as a public beach since 1882, visitors and locals of Sydney have always regarded this beach the top dog and it fully deserves its reputation. Head on down and enjoy the lovely warm sand between your toes and the gorgeous green blue water of the Tasman Sea. The name Bondi origionates from the Aborigional word meaning water breaking over rocks, sounding more dangerous than it is you need not worry because the Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club is based here and is the worlds first surf lifesaving club. Another cool beach fact is Bondi Beach also hosted the beach volleyball competition at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Amoung all the great activies and fun around Bondi, make sure you do the Bondi to Bronte Ocean Walk, which captures the best views of Sydney and the magnificent coastline. Further south are the beaches of Tamarama and Bronte as well as Coogee . Other great attractions nearby are Centennial Park, Moore Park , Oxford Street and Kings Cross .
