Over at the Sydney Olympic Park, Sydneysiders and sports enthusiasts alike gather at the ANZ Stadium where many sports teams use the huge 82,000 capacity to their favour and put on a great show for the fans. Since opening in 1999, the ANZ Stadium turnstiles have been walked through by millions of people that share in the drama and passion of some of the greatest sporting events in Australian history. It wass purposely built for the 2000 Sydney Olympics and has been effectively used ever since. Wheather its Australian Football League, rugby leage, football, cricket or even many music concerts, this big stadium fits the bill and creates an eccentric atmosphere.
A memorial moment for the wrong reasons in 2003 as the stadium was the venue for Australia’s loss to England in the Rugby World Cup but never the less, the Wallabies are well suppoted here and have witnessed some cracking games.
